New 'object' and 'entity' components |
The refactored and/or rewritten object and entity components are available in the SVN development branch.
They were available for quite some time already but now officially replaced the now deprecated old components.
yake::object provides generic means for managing class and object ids and collections of object instances. Specialized implementations are used by yake::entity and yake::net, for example.
yake::entity is a system for managing simulations of complex objects (aka entities). Entities have a variety of features like an event system, scripting machines, data-driven configurations and more. A plugin for scripting entities using the Lua language is included. Future updates will provide adapters to the network system which allows to replicate and update entities between peers ( optionally with different entity configurations per peer ).

The yake::model component has been rewritten. It is available in the development branch.
The yake::model component provides a data-driven approach to models consisting of various components (e.g. graphical, physical and audible) as well as inter-component links. The latter can be used to hook graphical to physical objects in several possible ways, for example. The models and related definition data can be configured at runtime. yake::model provides several plugin factories for easy extensibility.
